Is there a basic blog application

  Is there a basic blog application that can run on a local computer. It can create blog entries. and later on I could upload to wordpress if I wanted to.
  I don’t want to install wordpress into my IIS.
  Looking for some basic blog that would save to xml or text file. or maybe a access or mysql database.

  Use a blog client such as Windows Live Writer, BlogDesk or perhaps Ecto. You can write your posts in one of them and then when you are ready, you can publish the posts directly to the blog from within the blog client.

  Can you create multiple blog posts? Have them stored locally. then do a batch post later (if wanted to)?
  It looks like you can only do 1 post at a time.

  You can write as many posts as you wish and leave them as drafts in the blog client, but you will have to publish them one at a time. I’ve never seen any “bulk publish” option on any of the blog clients.

  Whew! I couldn’t find a bulk publish option but thought I might have overlooked it. It’s a really busy work day.
