Is there a blog description field that helps with SEO?

    Someone told me there is a field where I can describe my blog in detail that helps with my SEO. Does this exist, and if so, where? Am I very limited for SEO without a self-hosted blog? Thanks!

    Howdy,

    We take care of much of the SEO work for you, so you’re a leg up on many folks on self-hosted sites. We’ll use the site’s tagline in Settings->General for some of your SEO descriptions.

    Additionally, on each post, you can write an Excerpt for that specific post. (If you don’t see Excerpt in your post editor, you may need to enable it in your Screen Options.

    Additionally to that, you can customize the description used for your tag and category pages by editing the descriptions found on each category under Posts->Categories and Posts->Tags.

    That said, we already do quite a bit for you, including create a Sitemap.
