Is there a disconnect between OM's blog and mine? His comment did not come throu

OM’s comment did not come through on this post of mine:
    http://aholisticjourney.wordpress.com/2013/08/05/the-writing-process-ii-why-we-read-part-4/ post

He tried three times today and saw it didn’t take.
The last several months, I would sometimes not receive word of a comment that came in – and not receive notice in the small notification window on the upper right, of a blogger’s response on his or her board to my comment.

I wonder if this is a related issue, if there is some disconnect between OM’s board and mine today. Soon after he reblogged the first part of my interview with him last wk, I saw referrals from his site on my Stats page. But after his reblog of the second part today, I have seen no referrals from his site. Earlier today, when he read the link I noted above (Why We Read) off a comment I left him, I did not see him as a referral in my Stats either.

    Thank you.

How do I access EMAIL SUPPORT as a Premium blogger? I realized the perk comes as part of my package, but haven’t been able to see whom I can write.

    OM’s reblog of my post

last night apparently did not connect to my blog. He too saw that his readers weren’t able to enter my site. It may be working now but he is still not able to put up comments on my site – I think this is a problem on his part.

    OM says:

“You aren’t seeing the people coming over for some reason. But my readers are going to that post. I can tell from the likes and reads on my end.”

Even now there is no record of any taps into my blog from OM’s blog on my Stats page, since he read a post of mine about 24 hours ago.

Actually, I don’t think he’s right. The readers who’ve responded to the last post he’s seeing on my blog seem to be ones who liked or started following me from the prior post (the first part of the interview on OM). It does seem that given the size of his readership, for some reason his readers are not getting over to my blog and there is a disconnect between his blog and mine. One proof – that his comments to my post are not reaching me.

It looks to me like his posts are getting caught in the spam catcher for some reason. Log into your dashboard and click on “Comments” then click the “spam” link. You will see his comments there.

If you would like, I can initiate an email exchange with you. Or we can continue to work on the issues you are experiencing here. Either way works for me.

You’re turning out to be my hero, RJ.

    1) I can’t locate the spam link I’ve seen before. I’m not seeing the “comments” in the dashboard. Do I first go to Settings?

    2) Please do email me. If Premium bloggers are privy to email support why is the email address such a mystery? What is the addy I can use in the future for direct contact?

    Thank you.

The other even more pressing issue is the apparent lack of communication between his blog and mine — just when we posted our collaborative work. The last two days there has not been one hit under “referrer” from his blog into mine, when given his tap into my Why We Read and the size of his readership, I should have had a lot.

Though his readers SEEM able to tap into my blog from his reblog, at least as of Tues (though he reblogged me Monday).
Please continue your responses via email. Thx.

COMMENTS update: I dug his out of Spam. But that’s an issue originating from his blog, correct? Anything I can do to help the problem hereon, when my settings look fine and his is the only nonSpam caught there?

Though I unspammed his comments (response to readers on his interview), they are not appearing under the post nor under the Why We Read post of mine. How do I restore them to their place?

And Tues morning (PST in the States) he linked back to me on this post of his but again, no referrers under my Stats. Doesn’t make sense given his sizeable audience.

Re: OM’s comments, I was able to go the step further and approve his comments. They’re fine now.

@RJ, would you email me to continue the thread about how My Stats are not reporting views from OM’s blog – under Referrers? Thank you.

  • I have been looking into this, but I cannot find any reason why those stats would not be appearing (aside from the possible “nobody has clicked on the link” reason).

I am looking into some “how do views from the reader get recorded” thoughts, but I don’t really have anything for you at the moment.

RJ, a reader who put up a like on the last OM post of mine answered back and reported that she came from the reblog on his site. Not to mention that my readers went nuts over the post — so for sure his readers tapped into me from OM’s reblog. It hit me: the fact that he’s been marked SPAM probably has something to do with it….Maybe he’s not being filtered through the referrers as a spammer.

As a Premium acct holder, I would appreciate your email. I have an inquiry to open – would like to ask for permission on something. Thanks.

  • I will send you an email to respond to. It will go to the email address registered to your WordPress.com account. Let me know if you do not receive it.
