Is there a Login Widget?
-
Hi there. I have a new blog and it’s great, but I can’t find a login widget to add to my sidebar. For instance, when I hit my blog from a computer that I’m not logged into WP from, there is no simple way to login without going to the WP login page.
Am I missing something?

Many thanks! Can you also point me somewhere on how to configure what’s displayed in this widget? I simply want login/logout/admin, not all of the RSS stuff. Not a show stopper though.

The meta widget is locked. We can’t edit it.
Normally I would suggest making a text widget with tke links that you want but that’s the answer usually when one want to have the RSS links but not the login.
Sorry can’t help.

if you really don’t like those rss stuff, you can always get the login url and create a link on your blogroll.

Here’s an alternative.
Create a text widget with the title LOGIN.
Then cut and paste the login link in the text area, like so
a href=”https://xxxxxxxx.wordpress.com/wp-login.php”>HERE
(add HERE to the end, as that’s the word you click on)
I’ve also missed off the < arrow at the beginning as it wouldn’t show it correctly here. That’s it

That was mentioned a few posts up. The issue is though that the text of the link would remain. The link in the Meta widget changes from ‘Login’ to ‘Site Admin’ depending on if you’re logged in or not.
