Is there a 'manual'?

  • Unknown's avatar

I am a new blogger. I have no experience. I can understand that I can start a blog which costs me nothing. I can understand that, because the blog, provided by WordPress, is free, that there are limitations upon how complex my blog can be. I accept that.

But I cannot understand why WordPress does not provide a ‘manual’. What is wrong with the word ‘manual’?

I need to know whether or not I can italicise words, and how to do it, etc. I need to know how to bring pictures into my blog. I need a MANUAL. What I do not need is MARKETING STUFF. That is, sentence after sentence extolling the virtues of WordPress, which tell me nothing.

Please create a ‘manual’. It does not matter how long it is. Tell me how to change fonts and how to italicise words and phrases. Tell me how to allow commenters to do likewise. If it involves HTML, fine. Just tell me how to do it and how to advise others.

PLEASE STOP USING INFORMATION AS A MARKETING TOOL. If you do not, others will do so – and I, personally, will have no hesitation in transferring my blog to them.

Be in no doubt that the first organisation to explain clearly, without marketing cleverness, how to use the blog, via a ‘manual’, will gain a competitive advantage.

Clarity, without marketing mumbo-jumbo, will win in the end.

    Yours,

    James Watson (aka Junican).
