Is there a plugin that helps keep track of a staged order?

  I want to build a website where people can build a virtual shirt in stages: material, style, graphics, etc. Is there some sort of plugin that will keep track of the decisions made in a stage and then use that as the customer moves to the next stage of the online production process? Does this make sense to anyone else?
