Is there a policy regarding nazi using wp.com for their propaganda?

  Hi there,

  I live in Austria, and as you might know, we have a very right-wing and conservative political climate here. Not only that, but the neo-nazi scene is flourishing as well, also thanks to new possibilities provided by the net.
  To come to the point: The biggest Autrian neonazi webpage is wp driven – selfhosted in the US. Thats the reason our lame police tells us, why they can’t do anything about it (its actually not true, they could do something, but they are very far on the right themselves). Just for the record, as not everybody might know that: It’s highly illegal to promote the Nazi ideology and their symbols in Austria (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verbotsgesetz_1947). And this webpage does that without doubt. They make public death threats against people they do not like, talk about killing all jews, swastikas all over the place, etc… The thing is, nobody knows who is behind this page, but no doubt they are from Austria or Germany.

  My point is: We cannot do anything about it, as long as it as wp.org driven. But looking at their source code, I’ve noticed that they use the wp.com stats plugin. This would mean, that they have an account here.

  Is there anyway to do something about them?

  I’m not going to link to their page, as I do not want them to receive any traffic by this, so if somebody would be interested, just pm me.

  This is the forum for WP.com and for the bloggers than use WP.com which is different from the WordPress.org software which is used for self hosting sites.

  As WordPress.org software is free open source software so you can’t stop anyone using it.

  If you feel that the sites are breaching laws in your country then you’d have to complain to the web company hosting the site.

  Id you were referring to a free blog being free hosted by wordpress.com you could report it here. However, the blog is self hosted so you will have to do a whois search, determine the we host and make a complaint directly to the web host in question.

  WAIT.

  What you can do is contact (email visible only to moderators and staff) and ask them to disable this person’s ability to use the WordPress.com stats plugin. They may do that. That’s about all they will do, though.

  Every blogges who uses Akismet and/or wordpress stats has an account here so they can get their API keys. Username accounts are never deleted. Also as the material that offends you is not located here on a blog being free hosted by wordpress.com we have come full circle.
