Is there a possibility to redirect a blog to a new home?

    Hi,

    i’m trying to move my blog to my own, self hosted, wordpress. Is there a possibility to add an HTTP-redirect to my current wordpress blog? So that readers are automatically redirected to my new blog?

    If not, what’s the best way to move a blog to a new environment without annoying the readers too much.

    WordPress.COM does not offer any redirection for blogs hosted here.

    My suggestion is to put a final post on your blog here with an explanation and a link to your new blog. Then after a month or two, mark your .COM blog private.

    following Thesacrepath’s advice:
    an example of what I did when i moved from blogger to wordpress.com:

    [Blog name] is moving to its new home!

    [new blog link in big very legible text]

    —-eventually I just left the last post with the commenting turned off.
