Is there a shortcode or plugin for displaying the number of posts in a category?

  I have the display-posts plugin installed on WP 4.0 and I’m just wanting to add some kind of parameter/argument to display the category post count after each instance of shortcode, example:

  [display-posts wrapper="ol" category="chat-logs" posts_per_page="-1" include_date="true" order="DESC" orderby="date" include_excerpt="true"]

  If display-posts doesn’t/can’t do it, is there another shortcode or plugin that I can use in addition?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
