Is there a starter guide for real thicko's like me?

  I have used a “one click install” on to my domain hosting site and (eventually) got the starter page up. However, how do I do anything else with it. I have after much searching, found that I needed to put PHP on my machine, but have failed to get that to do anything. I took me ages to discover that I needed to download the WordPress zip file from WordPress.ORG.

  I have been a programmer for 35+ years but ….

  Any suggestions welcome, if not too rude!

  No rude – everyone starts at zero you are however in the wrong forum – but you need to use the getting started documents over at WordPress.ORG

  The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.

  Well thank you indeed. This is indeed most helpful. This seems about par for me for the last two days. Wrong place altogether.
