Is there a step by step method to add a Button?

    Is there a step by step method to add a Button?
    I have a Bed & Breakfast business which also advertises through a Channel Manager to main booking agents such as Booking.com, Expedia, etc.
    My Channel manager – called Resonline – can provide me with an Online Booking Button, but I cant work out how to add it to my page.
    I have scrolled down the left hand Add column and found ‘Button’, but when I try to move it onto my page nothing seems to show or display.
    Can a button only be added once something else is in place?
    Or, are there special locations for buttons to be put?
