Is there a technical issue with Worpress' log-in screen? I can't log in.

    When I try to access my dashboard from my iPhone, I keep getting the WordPress log-in screen, but then can’t get past it. I type in the correct username and password, but it just refreshes itself and keeps asking me to type them again. I don’t get any error message like “incorrect password”. I just get the same log-in screen over and over again and can’t get past it. This has just started in the last two days. I’ve never had this glitch before. Is there a technical issue going on with your log-in screen?

    Are you using the Safari app to log into WordPress? Or are you using the WordPress for iOS app?

    I have tried logging in both ways, and the same glitch happens.

    Okay, and are you still able to log in with that information on your laptop or home computer?

    Just to clarify, you’re not seeing an error message, but the login page simply refreshes. Is that right?

    Yes, that’s right: no error message, the login page just refreshes.

    I haven’t needed to log in on my laptop or iPad. They are set to “remember me”, so I haven’t been prompted to go to the log-in screen lately for those devices. I could log out of WordPress in them and see what happens when I try to login again, but I’m afraid of getting locked out from everything!

    Sorry, I should correct what I said earlier. The WordPress app is working fine for me – it has kept me logged in as usual. It’s logging in through Safari that is causing me problems. I prefer working through Safari than the WordPress app.

    Hi there,

    Could you try clearing mobile Safari’s cache and cookies?

    You can do so from Settings -> Safari.

    I’m having a hard time replicating this problem. Could you also make sure that Safari is set to accept cookies and you have JavaScript enabled via your Settings -> Safari page?

    If you’re able to use a different computer or browser, I’d just like to confirm that the problem isn’t with your password. If you use a different browser than your normal one, then you shouldn’t need to log out from how you usually access your WordPress.com Dashboard.

    Hi there. The problem seems to have corrected itself! I checked my Safari settings, and it was set to accept cookies and I had JavaScript enabled. I then tried again to log in to my WordPress account, and it worked! I’m still not sure what caused it to change, but in any event I seem to be up and running again. Thanks for your help.
