Is there a way I can put several pages together in a single folder?

  • Unknown's avatar

I am studying at college and have used my site as a means of completing the requirements of some assignments. I would now like to combine those assignments which are all on separate pages and put them into a single file/folder.
I want to do this so that I can tidy up the site and add a portfolio of my work from my studies.

Many thanks for your time and assistance.

  • Hi there. The easiest way to do this would be by setting up a custom menu. First, create a new page that will be the “parent” page for the rest (if you already have such a page, skip this step; you can also make a blank “parent” item on the menu that doesn’t link to a page)

In your WP-Admin dashboard (http://wwestysgirl.wordpress.com/wp-admin/) click on Appearance ->Menus. Follow the instructions in the support doc to create the menu and add your pages to it. Then simply drag and drop the pages under the parent page to change them to child-pages/subfolders.

See both the support doc and the wpbtips tutorial below for instructions: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
    http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/

To create a blank parent tab, see the tutorial under the heading “Other options, special cases and tricks”, “c. Submenu with non-linking top level tab”.

Let us know if you need more help with this.
