Is there a way to email my contacts that a new post has been added to my site

I want to let all of my contacts know that I have posted something new on my blogsite. Is there a way to upload my contacts email addresses to the blog site and when I put up a new post they get notified?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You could offer subscriptions to your blog:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/blog-subscriptions/Otherwise, you will have to use your email client to send the notifications yourself.

If you have a Twitter account and/or a Facebook account you can add social bookmark buttons form http://getsociallive.com to the end of your posts, and doing that will automatically update the two accounts immediately after publication for you. Then your followers will be aware a new post has been published.You simply go to the site and enter the title and shortlink, choose the buttons you want & the style of buttons you prefer, click the link and generate the code. Copy and paste the code into the HTML editor at the end of your post and click Publish.
This is another way your followers will be aware a new post has been published. If you have a friendfeed account http://friendfeed.com/ it will automatically update the sites you set it up to update, for example Twitter. There’s nothing you have to set up at the blog end other than posting the chiclet in a text widget in your sidebar.

If you are sure that your contacts really want to be notified, then try this:
Get email updates of your own blog. Then each time you write a new post, the post will end up in your inbox. Now forward that mail to contacts who you know want to be notified.Don’t email to people who don’t want to be notified – otherwise you will look spammy.
