Is there a way to embed video to only my non-wordpress site?
-
I have my own site, ArtOfLifeAcademy.com. In the training center, which is a paid thing, we post the videos that we host through video press. When I disabled the embed code, it does not allow me to embed it on the site, I get the Video Press Error with the message, “artoflifeacademy.com is not an allowed embed site. Publisher limits playback of video embeds.” Is there a way around this where I can limit the embedding to my site only?
Also, after uploading a test video that was 43 seconds long, it only plays 2 seconds of the video in the post on the public side and has no audio. However, in the media upload screen in the backend on the admin side, when I play the video it plays the full 43 seconds with audio. Is there something I’m doing to bring this about or is it a bug?

Unfortunately, public embedding needs to be enabled to embed the video on a non-WordPress site.
As for the video that’s not playing correctly, can you give us a link to it?

I may be misunderstanding this, but I read this on the VideoPress.com at this page. I’m reading that I do have the ability to select specific sites to put the video on, or am I mis-reading this?

“Privacy controls
Not everyone wants their videos to spread all over the web. VideoPress helps you restrict your content to your own sites or sites you select. Embeds, feed enclosures and other sharing options are completely optional. Our video player verifies each website displaying your videos has been explicitly granted permissions (if you choose to restrict your content).” -

I apologize for the confusion. VideoPress is primarily a WordPress service, and as such we’re really only able to track playback on WordPress.com sites and WordPress blogs using the plugin.
The embed code itself cannot be controlled on a per-site basis and needs to be either enabled for everyone or completely disabled.
Regarding the video with the error, the HD version works perfectly, but it looks like there was an encoding error in the SD version.
Can you please try re-uploading it?

I’m sort of new to this whole coding thing, as I just started learning php, but is it possible to build my own player the way I want and still host on video press?
-
Part of VideoPress is the player itself and other players can’t be used. You can build your own player for the files and host them yourself.

it seems to be working all groovy now, same page if ya wanna check it out…
What is the possibility or likelihood of VideoPress developing for my type of situation?
-
my bad, let me clarify that question… What is the possibility or likelihood of Video Press developing a system for my type of situation?
-
I can pass along the request, but VideoPress is really a WordPress-based service first and foremost, so I can’t say for certain if and when it will be considered.
-
When you say WordPress, are you referring to WordPress.com or WordPress technology?
The biggest issue we have had thus far with our site is someone to reliably host the video that is cost effective that also has a functioning HD player. I know that I’d be willing to spend money on a player that works for my situation, such as there are no embed options available on the player.
We’ve tried Amazon S3 but have to process the video several times in order for it to actually play right. I’m really looking for something that reduces the amount of steps I have to take as well as a reliability.
Our site is a membership site where we have several different courses wrapped in that membership and our videos are bit bigger than what our hosting can effectively service.
Anyway, just trying to find a solution… thanks again for your help…
Much Love

I’m sorry dude, I think we got mixed up along here somewhere, my site is a WordPress blog, it uses Canvas by WooThemes. My brother showed me that in the “settings” on the WordPress.com you can stipulate which sites you can allow to access the videos and then disable it on a video by video basis.
It works great! <breathing relief>

I believe my initial question may have set up the misunderstanding. I apologize for not be more clear.

Perfect, I was pretty sure that wasn’t a WordPress site, but I’m glad you cleared that up and got it working!
