Is there a way to have same-page read more functionality?

  I’d like to be able to put on my blog a way for some text to show, then a link that when clicked shows more text on the same page. It’s a read-more link that doesn’t take a reader to a different page, but rather just scrolls to see more text on the same page.

  I found this wordpress plug-in. I don’t think it works on WordPress.com, but I was wondering if there is something similar I can do.

  You are describing anchor links also known as page jump links. See here http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/08/01/links-to-specific-points-on-a-page/

  Thanks for the help! I am looking more for something where text is hidden and then revealed when you click the “read more” link.

  That’s impossible on wordpress.com: it requires types of code we’re not allowed to use.
