Is there a way to have tags not show up in posts on a theme?
-
All my tags are showing at the top of the theme. Is there a way not make them invisible by adding CSS or anything else?
-
There are several themes which don’t show tags or categories. For example, I know that ‘Almost Spring’ is one of them.

I actually like the theme I have, just not having the tags how up at the top of the post.

From what mtndewvirus said in this thread, I doubt that there are any themes anymore that do not show tags on the posts.

Almost Spring still doesn’t show tags, as I toyed around with it yesterday. @ Jadesmith, if you don’t want to switch themes to rid of tags, you’d need to get the CSS upgrade and have a working knowledge of how to use CSS. There are tips throughout the forums for CSS, but not having a working knowledge could be frustrating for ya.

I was surprised when I found themes that don’t show tags…and I knew it was only a matter of time till that was changed, but didn’t want to say anything in case that just got this kilt faster. Ah well, it was good for some while it lasted.

The other thing is, that tags cannot be hidden in the CSS typically without also hiding things like author, categories, date and sometimes the title of the post since in most themes, it is all tied together under post metadata. In other words, in most/many themes, it is either all or nothing.

The themes that weren’t showing tags hadn’t been updated way back when tagging support was added to WordPress.com. Adding the tags to those themes was long overdue.
If you don’t want tags to appear in the theme, you can achieve this by not tagging your posts. If there are posts without tags that still show a tag section, let us know.
