Is there a way to hide stats?

    Hey WordPress.com community, how are you?

    I’ve had my blog for a while now, and whilst I love posting to it, I dislike the fanatical obsession that seems to descend like a mist every time I glance at the stats. I would love to just be able to blog for the love of blogging, but whilst convenient, the stats on the main dashboard page (and even the stats page itself) serve as a constant indication of my blog’s popularity. I don’t care about the number of views I get (or at least, I shouldn’t)! I want to have a blog because I love writing, and I love what I’m writing about, not because I want the smugness of knowing I had so many views today.

    Anyway, the point of this post is this: Does anyone know of a way to hide the stats? This could be an official one, or a Chrome/Firefox add-in, anything like that. Also, if there are any WordPress.com developer folk reading this, would it ever be possible to add a little check box in settings to do this?

    If you are talking about on the main dashboard page, go to the upper right and under the “screen options” tab, deselect the stats and that will hid it from the main dashboard page.

    Alternately you can click on the right end of the stats module title bar to collapse it to just the title bar.

    Boy about 1,000,000 bloggers would faint if they heard this suggestion. =)

    two things you can do, for now, on your dash.
    on the top right of the that module that says stats, click the faintly visible triangle.
    that will close the stats module.

    secondly, you can drag and drop the whole stats module, to the bottom of the dashboard page, out of view if you want.

    otherwise its an interesting suggestion, can’t wait for the feed back.

    …and since the settings stay what you chose them to be without saving, the stats will remain hidden unless you choose to have a look at them…

    Anyway, thank you very much for replying, it’s really appreciated. And so quickly too! I’ll definitely be hanging around in the forums more!
