Is there a way to know what font each theme has?
-
Is there a way to find out each theme’s font? Themes are SO limited and then if I find one I like, I don’t like the font. I know it can be changed in the post and with the CSS but I don’t have time to do all that now. I would just like to see the themes with a font I like better, then see if it is a theme I can live with!

I’m sorry but there is no separate listing of the fonts used in each of the 70 odd themes available to your here Appearance -> Themes that I know of.

This posts will at least tell you which themes have serif (and my exclusion non-serif) fonts: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/06/05/themes-with-serif-fonts/ .

Panos has a tremendous amount of great information. He took a lot of time to figure out all that stuff – way more than I would have.

Yes indeed he did and I wish I had the time to read everything he has there. IMHO combining his blog and onecoolsite would result in a terrific combo. ;)

@Richard & timethief: Thanks! For one thing, I’ve got onecoolsite under “technical advice by experienced forum volunteers” in my links.
@katytx: With some themes at least, you can load them and see the fonts they use by selecting View Source in your browser. Or create a sample text file, set the same text in various fonts and compare it with the same text in a test post; the options are rather limited, since most if not all themes use “browser-safe” fonts (fonts most likely to be installed on everyone’s computer) – see here: http://www.ampsoft.net/webdesign-l/WindowsMacFonts.html
