Is there a way to make the search bar in the search widget smaller?

I want the search to go right next to the empty bar thing so that it looks nicer. Or is there any way to make it smaller and center it?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Are you talking about this blog http://theconstitution.wordpress.com/ ? If so, what “empty bar thing?”

    Yes
    On the widget bar.
There is a widget that says “Search” below the Text Widget titled “Side Bar”.
Is there anyway to make the white bar (where you can enter text) of the search bar smaller so that “Search” button will fit in next to it on one line. Or is there a way to make the white bar longer and center both the button and the white bar to make it look cleaner.

I’m seeing the button to the right of the text box in FF and Safari on Mac. Make sure that your browser isn’t zoomed in (view menu zoom reset or something similar. I don’t have windows running so I can’t check in IE or other browsers right now.

With that widget, there is no way to change the width of that box. It would require access to the underlying theme script files and we do not have access to those.
