Is there a way to message my subscribers?

Besides posting a new blog, is there a way to privately message my wp.com subscribers?

Not legally – in many areas / countries sending an email directly to subscribers by getting their contact info out of the subscribers section is not legal – remember they signed up to be notified of new Posts not to get spam email from you. Many people will cancel their subscription if they get an unsolicited email.

It depends really on why you want to contact them and in what number. I’ve emailed a few subscribers at a time, for instance, when I’ve been having computer problems, just to let them know why I haven’t been able to answer comments, but there is no way that I’d email them all.
When people comment you can see their email addresses, but it’s neither wise nor fair to use those email addresses for circulars or newsletters. Of course, you could always do a post in your own blog asking if people would like you to send them emails – and if they say yes, then go ahead. But do ask first.
