Is there a way to not reset Social Media sharing button counts on upgrade?

  Hi, there:

  I’ve loved using WordPress and yesterday upgraded my membership so I can go from BassamSalem.WordPress.com to BassamSalem.com. All went well with the upgrade, but now all of my social media sharing buttons have been reset to 0, presumably because the URL has changed. Please tell me there’s a way to fix this. I’d appreciate your help. Thanks!

  Hi there,

  I’m sorry to say that both Facebook and Twitter have tied the counts of likes and shares to the URLs of articles. So the fact that you have changed your domain means that there is no way for them to re-attach the old counts of likes/shares/etc.
