Is there a way to prevent people from copying images from my blog that I post?

I want to be able to create a blog that my children can come back to and look at. Is there a way to prevent people from copying images from my blog that I post? I can already right-click on my children’s pictures and copy the image. I do NOT want other people to be able to do that. Suggestions and help, please! Thanks! :-)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Don’t put anything on the internet you don’t want copied – disable right click is false security – easy to get around –

Many people set family blogs to “Private” to only allow other family members in to see the blog and contents –

That is very true.. I was hoping to have a public blog that I could limit rather than having both a public one and a private one. :-(

If I disabled the right-clicking, how easy is that to get around? Only thing I could think of is ‘print screen’…

Ty for the advice and the help! :-)

There are a couple of other ways – you can save the whole page and sort out the files on your hard disk – I think there are several ways – some people have posted in the forum about “why doesn’t WordPress.COM have a disable copy my pictures like …… fill in the blank site” – that is usually followed shortly by someone else in the forum copying the “can’t be copied” picture and posting it in their test blog

Good luck with your blog – it does make sharing pictures with distant family members easier than putting some pictures in an envelope and sending them off

Very true… I may just have to copy and paste and just hold two different blogs. I appreciate the tips and the advice!! Have an awesome weekend!

Your best option is to watermark all images before you upload them.

If you use Duotone or Monotone themes right click is disabled but it does not prevent anyone from figuring out how to get around it. Disabling right is not available on any other themes and will not become available as it creates a false sense of security. Anyone can find instructions on the internet and get around it in less than 20 seconds flat. What’s best is watermarking your images or not placing any images you don’t want stolen on the internet at all. You be welcome

Many people watermark their pictures – I do that for my history site and don’t leave a lot of pixels for someone to work with – so they can make a postcard print of the pictures but not much more
