Is there a way to remove “Comments Closed”?
-
On my blog, most of my pages are just that, pages. They are there to be read and not commented on and it looks kind of strange to have the words “Comments Closed” on every single page. I would think it is rather obvious if there is no comment box that the comments are closed. So is there a way to remove this line from my pages?

No.
Blogs are specifically designed to invite commentary. Turning off comments is indeed unusual as blogs are for dialog.
If you have css customization skills and if you purchase a css upgrade then you may be able to mask it. I cannot say for sure as I have no css expertise whatsoever. Only a blogger adept in css or staff can give you a yes or no answer as to whether or not it can be “masked” by css editing.

Some blogs are. Some blogs aren’t. It all depends on the intent of the author. Trying to force your own preconceived notion as to what blogs are for down the throat of users — when allowing them the <i>option</i> of doing what they want is quite easy — only needlessly annoys them, and sends them off to your competitors.
Anyway, ladysilvermoon, to answer your question directly: WordPress doesn’t appear to have the option you want. Other products do. Whether that is enough of a reason for you to switch all depends on how important this feature is for you.

Which blog? I see open comments.
There’s also a spam that needs nuking.Maybe like Rain says the CSS would help – but we need to know the theme.

Go to Presentation > Theme Editor
Select ‘Comments’ from the column on the right
Scroll down to the middle of the page or search on ‘commentsclosed’.
Remove the word, ‘commentsclosed’. Update file.
