Is there a way to use some tags but not have them show up?

Seems like a strange question, in fact it probably is, but I have a bit of a problem with using tags..
The whole blog is about food, everything we have eaten this year is listed. We use tags to produce a tag cloud showing what food has been eaten the most. So every time we post the food we’ve eaten, we tag those foods. We don’t want to have other tags showing up, but we would like to use other tags.. so is there a way to get this to happen?Thanks!

The Tag Cloud Widget will display up to 45 of your most popular tags. But no we cannot have tags aon posts and then selectively omit tags from widget display. If you wish yoy can simply make your own widget by using a text widget but thge variance in sizing won’t be there and you will have to manually update it.
