Is there a widget to allow images in comments?
-
I tried another person’s blog and could enter HTML code for a Youtube, but not HTML from Photobucket or another site on the web. Is there a widget that can add this capability, or a change of settings?

No. There is no way to add images to the comments in WP.com except leaving a link to the image.

Images cannot be added to comments at wordpress.COM, and the main reason is that if someone were to insert a 2000px wide image it would trash your blog. Also if someone were to insert an unoptimized 9MB image it would basically bring your blog to a standstill, especially for those with slower internet connections, and there are a lot of us out there still.
As you have found, youtubes can be inserted into posts because WP has control over the embed code in the background and they can size the vids properly. With images they cannot at this time. Perhaps in the future they will add that ability, but it isn’t possible now.

Thanks, it would be a feature that would add to the fun. I’ll keep my eyes open for the capability in the future.

The blog admin can insert images into comments—either his/her own, or by editing a reader’s comment.
