Is there another way to verify a domain aside from an EPP code?
-
I recently transferred my domain to Google Domains, meaning that it is locked for transfer and I cannot get an EPP code. However, it looks like your connection process requires an EPP code for ownership verification, which I can’t get for 30 days per ICANN rules. Is there an alternate way to verify ownership? The standard way is to add a TXT record or switching the nameservers–are those options?

Hi there,
If you want to use your domain hosted with Google Domains with your WordPress.com site despite being currently transfer locked, you’ll want to change the domain nameservers at Google Domains, and point them over to WordPress.com. Our nameservers are:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMThen, you’ll want to purchase the connection subscription upgrade as a part of a paid plan to map your domain to your WordPress.com site.
For instructions on both processes, please visit our support page:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/connect-existing-domain/
Once the lock is lifted, you can transfer the domain over to WordPress.com, if you prefer:https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Hello,
Thank you for the response. However, the nameservers are already pointing at the correct location and the WordPress account is already a paid account that is compatible with a custom domain name. The domain was previously registered at WordPress; we were trying to move it to a dedicated registrar.
Following the process at the page you linked takes me to the same issue–WordPress uses the EPP code to verify domain ownership, which I cannot get. Is there another way to verify that I control this domain so that I can reconnect my domain to my (paid) WordPress account?
