Is there any entry limit in sitemap.xml?

  Dear all,

  My blog has more than 1100 blog posts and i have submitted the sitemap.xml to google webmaster tools. but when i checked the number of indexed webpage in google webmaster tools, it always show
  1. 1001 is sent
  2. 998 is indexed

  so i wonder as i got more than 1100 posts, the number of indexed webpage should be more than 1000.

  does the number of entries in the generated sitemap.xml have any limitation?
