Is there any way of recovering an account set up by a scam developer company?

Hi there,
Writing on behalf of a friend.
My friend had a website with a company called Logo Infinix who turned out to be a scam. Logo Infinix took the website offline because she refused to pay a large sum of money for no reason.
Unfortunately she didn’t set up the account with WordPress from her own email (they set it all up) so they had the ability to shut it all down.
She’s now unable to access anything.
Is there a way of recovering the website?

We can’t help you as that site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform. The only people who are able to help you are unfortunately those from Logo Infinix.

The website was definitely running on WordPress as we had access to WordPress before they shut it down.
I’m wondering if WordPress would be able to recover the site?

Hi there,
WordPress is just the name of the software that was used to set up your site. That software can be downloaded by anyone, and installed on any web server at any hosting provider to create a website.
The forums you’re posting in now is for WordPress.com, just one of hundreds of hosting providers for the WordPress software. We only have control over WordPress sites that are hosted on our servers.
If the site was hosted on Logo Infinix, it means they’re the only people who control that site, so they’re the only people who could possibly restore it or give you access again.
