Is there any way to actually get hold of customer support?

    I’m a new user to WordPress, just trying to write a simple blog. I am an educated adult with a graduate degree, but this UI is so Byzantine and complicated that I haven’t even been able to create a single post. I’m trying to get in touch with a “Happiness Engineer,” but despite sitting in chat for an hour, I’m getting no response. For all I know, they’re all playing poker in the back room and gleefully ignoring the chat, because there’s no queue, no feedback, no way of knowing whether there are “Happiness Engineers” actually on duty or not. I realize that I’m not some large corporate account or self-important “content creator” with millions of followers, and maybe that’s the difference. Is there any way to actually get help with WordPress?
