Is there any way to advertise?

Business is slow on my word-press. Is there any way that I could advertise such as appear on Google, or any other search engine? Anything would help right now! :D

You already are. When you signed up[ for the blog there was a section asking if you wanted to be indexed by search engines. Unless you deactivated that your already being indexed.
Beyond that just write posts that will bring people to you.

There are many places you can advertise your blog. What’s your budget for that? Buying advertising spaces on other blogs and websites starts at about $25 an ad.

I’m taking this to be an advertising question, not a “how to increase hits” question. There are easily thirty “how to increase hits” threads in the forum, available by search.

But why would advertising be important if you didn’t want to increase something?
Seems the only way to gain more visitors is to post more.
I have a daughter on WP so I’m interested in this topic.
She’s had days when her page views have topped 28K.
I’ve never been remotely close to that. {am I jealous? yeaaah} ;)
I realized her immense traffic was due to the way she tagged her posts.
This is why I suggested squeakensandtots look into tags.

In threads I only answer the question in the thread. After a few days you’ll see that if you try to answer related questions that occur to you, you will have no time for a life.

Yes, the tagging idea makes sense. I’m just not sure that the OP knows how to tag. And IMO the OP really didn’t mean “advertising”. IMO he or she is a young person who actually meant “how do I promote my blog?” or “how do I increase traffic to my blog?”.

I’m not a mind-reader; I just don’t have that kind of time. “Business” and “advertising” and purchasing Google keywords are all advertising-related concepts.

To figure out all this stuff = no life.
Blogging (and all the peripheral stuff) is a wonderful pastime but you do have to draw the line at some point.
There’s so damn much stuff you can get caught up in. It’s nuts.

Submit your site here on the right – http://www.submitexpress.com/ Submit it to only the top 40 search engines. And also claim your blog at Technorati and place Technorati’s buttons and such on your site. And make sure to ping your blog. I ping mine at http://technorati.com/ping and http://www.pingoat.com/ And email other similar sites like yours for link exchanges on each other’s blogrolls. And to get listed on search engines, try to get your blog on at least one person’s blog that is already listed on Google. This way when they get indexed, your site will then be indexed. Or edit your profile here on the forum so it includes your site to your username on the forum when clicked.

There are quite a few blog directories and blog search engines where you can start off by submitting your blog. You’ll find a list of sites that allow blog submission and RSS feed submissions at http://www.rss-specifications.com/rss-submission.htm
