Is there any way to embed Mediafire mp3s on WordPress?
-
I know that other music sites such as Fileden seem to work for people, but as most of my music is on Mediafire I’d prefer that.
Here is the code I put into my WordPress post:
[audio http://download105.mediafire.com/nybn1mm5yjzg/p9tr7dtwynt/Vertical+Horizon+-+Give+You+Back.mp3%5Dand here is the actual file –
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?p9tr7dtwyntThe player appears, as it should, but all I get is “buffering”, a problem I’ve been having with everything that I’ve tried so far. Please help.

If it is going to work, you would need the URL of the file. The ones above are download links of some sort.
The URL of the actual music file would look something like this:
http://www.mediafire.com/myfiles/song.mp3 -
Hmm – I’ve been unable to find any address on Mediafire with “mp3” at the end. The song IS an mp3 – Mediafire lists it as an mp3 – but its url is http://www.mediafire.com/?p9tr7dtwynt and its sharing url is the same. The only url for it that ends with “mp3” is the download one I listed in my first post. :(

I tried putting .mp3 on the end, and could not get it to work either, so mediafire is obviously not going to work here. The problem is on their end. Apparently they are somehow masking the actual URL of the file to prevent unauthorized downloads or something.
I would contact mediafire about it.

Also, it would help the volunteers here in the forum if you would link your username to your .COM blog in case we need to look at the blog to help you with a problem.

It’s quite possible Mediafire has arranged things in this way specifically to prevent people from hotlinking or using the links elsewhere, forcing everyone to go to their site. If they are running ads, that’s quite common.
