Is there any way to NOT go to the new editor when editing directly from a page?
-
I’ve noticed recently that if I go directly to the ‘edit’ button on a page it will only take me to the newer ‘beep beep boop’ editor and anything I do in there is disassociating my pages from their parents (and the list of ‘parent pages’ in the beep beep boop editor is broken and only contains a short list of most recent pages). Is there any way to either fix this or set the ‘edit’ buttons so that they go to the proper full editing page that doesn’t fuck with things I don’t expressly tell it to?

Hi there. I’m afraid there’s no way inside of WordPress.com to make that edit button go to the classic editor. You will need to take the long way around of going to the WP-admin dashboard first.
However, this behaviour you describe of the parent pages sounds like it might be a bug, so I’m going to tag this for staff so they can look into it. Please be patient while waiting for their response.

Hi there,
I’m sorry for the trouble with the parent page selector in the new editor. Our team is aware of the issue, but we don’t have a timeline yet for when that will be resolved. In the meantime, I’d recommend that you bookmark the link to your WP Admin dashboard:
http://oniwasabi.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
Or you can bookmark the direct link to the Pages section of that dashboard, for faster access when editing your pages:
