Is there any way to reach someone at WP?

I have some serious questions regarding transfering my website to Word Press. But it appears there is no way to contact Word Press, only the ‘community.’ That implies that if I have trouble down the road there will be no real help. Any comment?

If you have a free WordPress.com site (or even no site at all) then this forum is where you ask your questions. You can import content to here from a number of places. If volunteers can’t help then staff will assist. Upgrading to a paid plan (a Personal plan or higher is required if you want to transfer a domain) gets you email and Livechat support with staff which should prevent “trouble down the road”.

Before I decide whether to buy a Premium site I need to know if the monthly charge includes what I need to edit my website. I currently am being charged a fortune by GoDaddy for the editing software, which I use only a couple of times a year. Can anyone help me there?

Note that upgrades are charged annually in advance, rather than monthly. The features of the Premium plan (and others) are here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/plan-features/

  • Hi there,

All WordPress.com sites have access to the standard WordPress editor to edit content of posts and pages, and you can customize your theme using custom CSS code on our Premium Plan and higher.

If you’re speaking of GoDaddy’s site builder, we don’t have anything like that on WordPress.com yet, but we’re currently working on a way to use the block editor to edit the layout of a site itself. When this is launched, it will be a built in feature on WordPress.com, available on all our new block-editor-ready themes.

The other option is to use your own page builder plugin, but that would require our Business Plan, and the plugin itself may require an ongoing subscription from the company that makes it, which would not be included in any payments you make to us.
