Is there any way to recover a website or un-publish a site that has no access.
-
I am a partner in a training company ‘SMC Training Alternatives’. We had originally outsourced web design to a freelancer but they have since left and took our site with them. Is there any way to either recover that data or at least keep it from being published because they never took the site down, so we have no way to monitor or access our website. Proof of business ownership can be shown if required.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

A staff will be able to better assist you.
When looking for a direct answer from a staff you need to type in “modlook” in the tag area on the far right.
The will be notified and can better assist you. Please sure to subscribe to this top so you get a notice when they reply.
Best of luck!

I’m sorry but if you allowed the blog to be registered under another wordpress.com username account and that person refuses to transfer it to you then there is nothing that can be done because you do not in fact own the blog and Staff cannot close it.
Organizations, companies and/or groups of any kind do not own wordpress.COM blogs. Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner and it is the person with the WordPress.COM username account, who registered the blog under that username account and their associated email address and purchased any upgrades.
The blog’s owner must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased upgrades to renew them or to update credit card information, or to transfer the blogs and the upgrades to another username account.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account
https://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#transferring-upgradesWordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.
Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for refunds to be received.
Provided the blog’s actual owner who registered the blog and purchased any upgrades for it is logged in under the same username account and he or she is within the allowed time frame for refunds, they can cancel and request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades. They can also disable auto-renew there. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades And they can transfer the blog to another wordpress.COM username account. https://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#transferring-upgrades
Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades

@marioashley
This is not a matter for Staff. I already answered this above. Read and learn please. :) -
@timethief
Can you share the support doc on that answer. I did a quick search and couldn’t find anything.Thanks.
P.S. Are you telepathic b/c were always on the same time…or your just always on :)

@marioashley
Hi again. There isn’t a single support doc on this. If you use Google search and read all the threads for transferring a blog to another username account and the privacy policy support doc too, then you will find that what I posted is 100% correct and has been corroborated by Staff repeatedly.P.S. I always answer support questions while I multitask from my business which doesn’t need much intervention from me to keep rolling along. I usually log out about 4 PM my time. :)

Thanks for sharing. I’ll do more research online and on the threads.
That makes sense. I have dual monitors at home I use that helps me multitask.
See you around!
