Is there any way to revert to the old "add new post" page?
-
Used to be you could revert from the new interface back to the old one — that seems to have been discontinued, or has it? Is there any way to set a preference?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi dbaplanb,
You should see a link to use the Classic view instead at the top of the new editor. Your preferences will be saved and it will take you to the classic editor automatically next time you create a new post if you have cookies enabled on your browser.
I hope this helps! -
The option to revert to the classic editor has been removed, and the “Happiness Engineers” aren’t making anyone happy right now when it comes to the new editor.
Workarounds to switch to the old editor exist at this time, but they require bookmarklets or user script extensions in your browser.

How to find the classic editor:
Go to “My Sites” at the top left of the page, click on “WP Admin”. Scroll down on the sidebar on the left-hand side of the dashboard, find “Posts”, hover over that and choose “Add New” to make a new post, or “All Posts” to edit older posts.
I made a blog post with pictures: https://dandelionsalad.wordpress.com/2015/04/01/how-to-use-the-classic-editor-on-wordpress-com-blogs-and-never-see-the-beep-beep-boop-editor-again-by-lo/

“Return to classic editor” option is gone. Please make this a selectable option
That is not going to happen.
The Classic Editor will not be removed from WordPress.com. However, many of the links will continue to point to the New Editor as we continue to increase your ability to manage your sites (self-hosted or not) straight from the WordPress.com interface. You can read a bit more about this plan here: https://en.blog.wordpress.com/2014/12/16/dashboard-update/
Is there any way to revert to the old “add new post” page?
Yes. To use the classic editor when you edit posts,
go the Posts -> All Posts menu, hover over the post title and click the Edit link.Read more here Navigating the Classic WordPress.COM interface

Thank you, everyone! I thought it was just me being a fuddy-duddy, but apparently others don’t like the newer interface either.
@dandelionsalad, I really appreciate your instructions. I will try them next time.
In the end I’ll probably just get used to the new editor, but I did like seeing my tag cloud as I was writing my posts and I also liked being able to access all my categories to make sure I wasn’t inadvertently creating a new one (or misspelling one) that would end up stranded. -

The new interface, especially the “beep beep boop” post system, is terrible, & with every change you make things worse. It seems you now put the priority on looking cute & sleek, not on being quietly functional. The classic system worked, please respect us enough to give it back to us. Or at least continue to offer it as an alternative. Using WordPress used to be a joy; now it is awkward, and only gets worse.

This is really too bad. The other day I was writing a post and for the first time could not find Classic Mode. It reminds me of Facebook making changes without regard to what people who use it want.
I had been helping a friend make a blog on WordPress.com, which I had highly recommended. But he got frustrated that it was not user friendly and gave up. Today he said that he went to godaddy which is helping him set up a site.
Are you listening Happiness Engineers?

Me either, croydoncc. I’ve never used the “new, too-blue” editor other than to look at it briefly when it first came out.
