Is there anyone to add friends on WordPress?

Hi all! I’m farely new to WordPress and was just wondering if there’s any way to add friends on WordPress? I am such a NEWB I know…but I want to get more involved with the WordPress community and I’m not really sure how to go about it! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! =)

There is no Follower or Friends widget supplied by wordpress.com if that’s what you are asking. The way to make friends and followers who become subscribers is to locate blogs that interest you on the global tagging pages, visit, leave meaningful comments and form relationships with the bloggers in question.

Thanks timethief very informative answers! I appreciate it very much =) They should really think about adding some type of social community besides just the forum boards.
