Is there "archive"?

  Tumblr has a /archive view of every site, which combines a miniature view of each post in a larger calendar. Is there a similar view in wordpress? (Assuming the site owner didn’t specifically create an archive view). One advantage is ability to go directly to a certain or oldest date.
