is there some way to kill or restart a failed wordpress.org import?

    An import from external self hosted wordpress.org blog hung, with no apparent errors. Is there some way to kill this failed import and start over?

    Yesterday, I began an import of a small number of posts from a self hosted blog, as a preliminary test, before a full import. One single post showed up pretty quickly (but with no contenttoday there is still nothing additional. now when I try to import again WordPress tells me that “We’re processing your import now and will send you an email when it’s all done…”

    I’m trying to convert a friend’s self-hosted blog to a new wordpress.com blog to simplify her websites for her.

    never mind. since this was a new site, I just deleted the entire site and started over.

    the second time the import worked, but images come over as links to the old site, and are not directly imported into wordpress.com media library as the documentation seems to suggest.
