Is there something wrong with my blog or am I doing something wrong?

  I am trying to add a text widget (or any widget for that matter) to my sidebar. I am clicking on Appearance, then Widgets, then dragging the text widget over to sidebar 2. I open it, paste the HTML code into the text box, save and close. When I go back to my blog, it is not there. This isn’t happened with the text widget only. I have tried all of the widgets and none of them will stay in my sidebar. When I return to the widget page, my widgets have disappeared. My main concern is adding the “Follow Me On Pinterest” button and I have read and follow the tutorials from WordPress but nothing seems to work.
