    Hi,

I received an email, and am unsure if it is spam or not. The email this was sent to me by is ((email visible only to moderators and staff)). This is the email they sent to me:
    Dear Admin,

This is a follow-up notification regarding the previously reported SSL configuration and domain certification issues affecting your website.

Our monitoring system indicates that the identified problems remain unresolved, and your website is now at increased risk of security warnings, restricted access, and potential service disruption.

If these issues are not addressed immediately, the following may occur:

Browsers may begin marking your website as “Not Secure”

Visitors could be blocked from accessing your site

Sensitive data transmissions may become vulnerable to interception

Search engine trust and website credibility may be negatively impacted

Hosting services or security systems may enforce automatic limitations to protect users

Please understand that SSL and domain certification failures are treated as critical security risks. Delayed action may result in temporary service interruption or loss of visitor trust.

    Immediate Action Required

Kindly respond to this message as soon as possible so our technical team can assist you in resolving these issues and restoring full security compliance.

Failure to respond promptly may lead to escalating security restrictions designed to safeguard users accessing your website.

We strongly recommend treating this matter with urgency.

Thank you for your immediate attention.

    Kind regards,

    WordPress Technical Support Team

That’s clearly spam. WordPress.com emails are send from @wordpress.com only.

    Hi there,

Thanks for checking in about this great call being cautious with emails like this.

Based on what you shared, I can confirm that the message you received from (email visible only to moderators and staff) is not from WordPress.com and is very likely a spam/phishing email. Official emails from us will always come from an address ending in @wordpress.com.

For your safety, please don’t click any links or reply to that email.

I also took a look at your site:
theinkboundreader.wordpress.com and everything looks good on the SSL side. Your site is already secured with a valid certificate, so there’s nothing you need to fix there.

If you’d like to double-check this anytime, you can follow this guide:
    https://wordpress.com/support/domains/https-ssl/#check-if-your-site-is-secure

A quick tip going forward: if you ever receive a message claiming to be from WordPress.com and asking for urgent action, feel free to share it with us first we’re always happy to verify it for you.
