Is this blog scraper a problem?
-
I’ve seen some referrers on my stat page such as this one:
http://hoaxes.seblogs.net/article/93758/Lucy-Gao-meet-Aleksey-Vayner-the-man-of-your-dreams/They all have the basic layout in common, and it seems that they’re basically snippeting WordPress.com blogs, not adding a word of content themselves, and using these posts as somewhere to hang Adsense ads. If I had to guess I’d say they’re doing a search on tags and each blog is tag-specific, cuz another I’ve seen is “Singles” instead of “Hoaxes”.
Basically I’m asking if this is something I should be concerned about, or if I should just leave it. I know they’re being unoriginal. I know they’re making money off my content. But I can see they’re not posting the whole post, or passing it off as their own, and they ARE boosting my rankings. What do you guys think?

It’s not just seblogs.com, there’s a whole combination of 2 letters followed by blogs.com
You can see a whole bunch from ghblogs.com starting around here.. around 25 instances of it stealing my content

You can try contacting Keyweb and raising the issue with them. A quick lookup shows that they’re hosted within their space.
edit: A quick search in my records shows that they have a small history of spamming but not enough for me to block them. Not sure if you’re going to get a response but the best you can do is give it a try.
Good luck,

Nah, as long as they’re driving traffic to me I’ve decided to leave them alone. Thanks for the feedback and suggestions, all. I may change my mind; in fact, if I ever find something I posted on some other site with a link back giving THEM the credit instead of me, I will go after them and the linking site with sharp pointy objects, blowguns, and fugu. In the meantime I’ll just leave it and hope they continue to drive traffic to my site.

Yup and herein may be the answer to nosy’s question from last night about the 40 character number referrals. I see them in my stats from time to time also. Example: ectio.us/linkosphere/18b01c745f2023dfa286a7b29f7ced4b

Seblogs at least appears to be inoperative right now. Haven’t had any ectio that I’ve seen, thank god.
Click their adsense; it’s like injecting their blogs with Ebola.
My, I’m confrontational today. Must have something to do with the guy who said we should learn life lessons from Richard Nixon. I had him for breakfast.

*off topic*
Life lessons from Nixon! *rotflmao* Good for you. Did you know that some folks actually believe (something in their water/wine I’m sure) that Bush is a man with a character comparable to Winston Churchill’s? Now refuting that is a “fun” writing idea so I double dawg dare ya. -

Alot of those places ask me if I want to be included. I say okay. But there’s so many out there with new ones everyday.
-
Thank you. I’ve taken a bit of flack for what I posted, but I think the record will bear me out.

A couple more appearing on my blog:
webcalendario.com
gtblogs.org
stlprivate.bizThose are not work safe.

I’m getting real tired of these idiot scrapers. Found a post of Lorelles on one site and another of Donncha’s on another. Both of them in ev1server’s land. Makes me sick.
