Is this forum abandoned?

I came to this forum looking for help with moviesshouldnotsuck.com, which when I start to type in my browser (Firefox) addressbar, Firefox suggests a page titled moviesshouldnotsuck | Let me tell you what to think, but the URL is robotsofjoy.com. If I type the whole url manually it is ok, but the suggestion from FF is always this robots crap. Is this something with my browser or the site itself? However when I got to this forum it has been flooded with spam for reclaiming lost love or some such crap. No real threads visible, just tons of spam… Is anyone manning the ship?

That sounds like a browser issue–as in, an infected browser. I highly recommend uninstalling and search bars and disabling addons, then running a malware/spyware scan on your system with your anti-virus program.
There is always a ton of spam on these forums precisely because they are so busy. They tend to post in large chunks, but someone always comes by soon after and cleans it all up. If you need to find posts on a specific topic, it’s best to use the search function.

The spam problem has been going on for a while now, usually the Staff cleans up stuff everyday, but as it’s currently the weekend, not many people is around. Don’t worry about asking here though, questions usually get answered sooner or later, nothing left behind.

Thanks for the feedback. The Firefox suggestion only happens on the desktop – laptop is normal, so perhaps it is something on my system. I’ve done full system clamscans and they’ve always come up clean and I don’t have any search bars installed. I’ll look deeper though since it does seem specific to that system. Thanks again.

Just an update: I uninstalled Firefox on the desktop and all mozilla directories, then reinstalled fresh and everything appears to be ok. Perhaps something got cached somewhere(?).
