I keep getting emails saying that countless people are following my blog. They all have outlook email addresses. When I have emailed several of them back, but got no response. When I look at the number of followers on my blog, it is way less than all the emails I keep getting saying people are following it. Is this spam? How can I get it to stop?

I keep getting emails saying people are following my blog, but it seems to be spam . When I look at the actual number of people who are following my blog, it is way less! All of the people have outlook.com email addresses. I have even sent them emails inquiring as to where they joined, etc. No replies back. I get at least six followers a day. I know this cannot be correct, because it only shows that I have about six followers in all. How can I stop this?

Those followers are spam, yes. Please do not email them back – that is what they want as it gives them access to your email address so they can try to spam or hack it directly.
We are working on blocking these spam follows, but for now the best thing to do is to just ignore them.
