Is this supposed to be user-friendly? I'm baffled…

Ok. Here’s just one example among many of how frustrating my experience of WordPress has been.
I’m looking for the support thread I started to see if there’s been a solution to the problem I’ve had on the blog (No text visible! Only images!).
I click on my bookmark for our family blog and sign in – it’s a private blog.
Running along the top from left to right, I see the WordPress symbol, then our blog name, then “+Follow” and a series of dots ending in a tiny vertical line, then blank space, then on the right, another collection of symbols and our blog name again. I don’t know or can’t remember what ANY of them do, and they’re not giving anything away.
So I’m still looking for the support topic I started, so I click on the WordPress symbol for starters – have a good nose around, can’t see anything hopeful there.
Back to the previous screen (this takes a few attempts, weirdly!)
I go to the next option, our blog name top-left. I click on it but it just reloads the same page. So I hover over it and try Dashboard.
I then waste far too much time hunting and scratching around on the trail of my support thread.
Somewhere I see a Support heading but that doesn’t help.
Right down the bottom (I think) I find Forums – and at last spot my question, but only because I have only just added to it so it’s nice and fresh. And I can’t remember how I found it the last time!
If the topic had been more than an hour old I’d have had to manually scroll back through the topics to find mine. Or, as I had to a previous time, scroll back several pages, scrutinising each one closely to find my question.
I do not have time for this! I don’t know why it has to be like this! This is just a support question, I haven’t even done anything to the blog!
What baffles me is that WordPress site is supposed to be one of the best blog sites around – I dread to think what the others are like! Where is the user-friendliness, the intuitive design? Why don’t you have clearer menus at the top of the page? Why don’t you have a clear link on our Dashboard to the support/forum questions I’m following?
I am not the only member of my family who has been literally going round in circles on this site trying to find things since we started our blog.
This whole experience is putting me off using the blog, and some of the other family members haven’t even bothered. I really think we’ll have to find another solution.
Excuse me for letting off steam, but … come on guys! This should be a whole load better.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Errr, yes. That’s a pretty obvious statement. If it was that simple I wouldn’t be writing this. I’m not a complete novice either, I have created a blog of my own before using WordPress, but I’m not yet ready to publish it and it’s on the back burner for now.
I’ll check back later for some hopefully more constructive comments. I’m not just “having a bad day” and sounding off, this is a serious opinion I’m expressing and I don’t like to criticise just for the sake of it.
However, I know others who have been equally frustrated by the interface – and we’re not stupid people, just people with better things to do!

this might help you, as for your query, you should search for the topic you started your thread about. In addition, next time you start a thread maybe sign up for e-mails so you are notified when someone replies. The link in th email will take you to the thread.

katekatebobs – thanks for your thoughts.
“I can easily see the forum post I *just* made from following the forums link? ” –
that’s because it’s a fresh topic, surely, so it’s still near the top of the pile? How about if you started a thread a couple of days ago – or you contribute to a different thread that’s way down the pile? How would you find them then?
If you are being directly taken to your personal forum contributions, which page are you on when you click on the Forums link? The link is different depending on which page you’re on.

Thanks for the link. I looked through, there’s nothing about my issue there that I can see, of course I may have missed it.
Yes, I realise I could do the email sign-up. I have, in fact, except I’m not sure how to get the emails! Another family member set up the blog, I don’t think she even gets the emails, I’m not sure where they go!
But even so, surely it wouldn’t be too much to ask to have a “Your forum threads” button featured prominently somewhere on the dashboard?

When logged into the forum – do one of two things –
click on your name in the upper right corner of the support page (not the gray Nav. Bar) and you will get a list of all the threads you posted into.
Click on “Member” under you name when you are in any thread you posted to for a list of all the threads you posted into
