You need to take out the image part of the code (the part that says “IMG”)and replace it with text. It’s quite a bit of work, and it will result in fewer clicks. I used to have them done textwise, but changed it to images and now many more people use those links.

Using Keotag will give you text instead of icons with minimal fuss:

But I agree with raincoaster in preferring the icons. I haven’t had a huge increase in clicks on them since switching from text, but there is some increase. I think they look better too, but that’s subjective.

I figured out how to to the text, but now may switch back to icons instead.Thanks again for the help Raincoster and ellaella!

There is a downside to using social bookmarks that do not contain the url to your specific blog post. Bloggers clicking those links expect to find that the url has been included when it has not.
This is why I use the code provided by sunburntkamel at the end of my posts instead. It takes only a few moments to find and replace to insert the url to the post and the post title http://archgfx.net/blog/2006/geek/blogging/social-bookmarks-on-wordpresscom
