Is upgrade required to use a free template?

  I downloaded a temaplate from here: http://www.freewordpressblogtemplates.com/, am I required to upgrade to use this template for my blog skin?

  wordpress.COM users cannot upload themes, that is only reserved for wordpress.ORG users. You could buy the CSS upgrade and try to recreate the theme from scratch.

  If you are hosted here, please link your blog to your user name as explained in the sticky, 8 Things, at the top of the forums.

  And if you are hosted here, you cannot use any theme that is available for download. There is no upgrade. You can only use the themes in your dashboard.

  Cool. Thanks for the clarification.. I thought that’s what the rule book said, but wondered if there was a loop hole somewhere.

  The only loophole is if you’re a VIP blog which requires several hundred thousand hits a month, plus several hundred dollars per month.
