is wordpress and woocommerce free?

    Hi I thought wordpress and woocommerce were free? everythime I go to complete the setup is requiring to pay for a plan, not sure why that is,

    WordPress.com has three different plan options available, each at a different price including one free plan (that you currently have). The Starter and Pro plans are paid plans and come with more features. You can read more about those plans and their differences here:

    The WordPress Pro plan comes with unlimited plugins, which would include unlimited access to WooCommerce plugins. Otherwise, you would need to pay an additional monthly cost in order to use WooCommerce plugins.

    Hi there,

    The WordPress and the WooCommerce software is free, as in free to download. But running that software requires access to a web server connected to the internet. You can either set up your own server to do that, or you can pay a web hosting provider to “rent” space on their servers to host that software for you.

    Here on WordPress.com we provide hosting for free, but with a customized, limited version of the WordPress software.

    To host the full version or WordPress and install plugins on your site, requires our paid hosting service.
