Is wordpress for me?

I am trying out something new. Its a DnD serialized fiction in “blog” form. I will be posting 2-4 times per week 500-1000words per post. The problem I have is everything is in a typical blog form ( newest post first). and I would like to have new readers start from the first post, and let those who follow me get links to the newest posts.
I am prepared to upgrade, I was trying this out until I have 25,000+ written. I have been told to do pages and change dates, but I don’t feel pages are what I’m going for and changing dates is just ridiculously time consuming.
I wish I knew more about website building, but I don’t. Thank you for your time.

Changing dates isn’t THAT time-consuming; it takes a few seconds as opposed to the time it takes to write 500-1000 words. It is the only way to get the order the way you want. http://en.support.wordpress.com/write-a-book/

I guess what i was really trying to say is that I like things that work, and have things that work for me. I am not the kind of guy who drives car that the driver’s door is busted up and cant open and will say it still is fine since I can get in the passenger door and drive…lol So yeah it’s not That time consuming, but its also not what it’s meant for.
Anyways I found a solution for this until I find something better suited for my work. I have added a text widget that allows others to link up to the first post. And at the same time the people who follow me can read upon my latest post. Win-Win :P
