Hello there!
While your domain is mapped here at WordPress.com, we are not hosting the domain, sunshinecoastpoweryoga.com.
While we register new domains here at WordPress.com, we’re not able to accept incoming transfers of existing domain names. Therefore, we recommend that you keep the name registered at your current registrar. You can use the domain for your site here at WordPress.com by mapping the domain, as explained here:

If you have any other questions, please let us know. Cheers!

Thank you :)
I’m a little confused as I thought there was a difference between hosting and domain registration… If we pay for a premium wordpress site are we hosted by wordpress even though we pay domain registration through someone else? Or do we also need to pay our previous website designer to host us as well? sorry I’m clueless :/ -
Hi there!
No worries at all! I’m happy to help explain things!
If we pay for a premium wordpress site are we hosted by wordpress even though we pay domain registration through someone else?
That is correct. Your domain is hosted elsewhere. Your domain is the “name” of your site. It can sit on any server. It doesn’t have to live where your website is hosted.
You will have to maintain the domain name somewhere. It doesn’t have to be with its current registrar, but for the time being, we cannot transfer it to WordPress.com.
Or do we also need to pay our previous website designer to host us as well? s
You shouldn’t have to pay anyone else to host your site. The hosting of your site is actually free here at WordPress.com. You have upgraded your free site to Premium, which gives you these features:
But, the hosting itself is free.
I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!

Thank you! I understand now, our domain registration has been paid but we will ignore the hosting invoice as we are hosted with wordpress now :)

Hey there!
we will ignore the hosting invoice as we are hosted with wordpress now
That sounds fine about allowing your web hosting to expire with this other company. My only advice is to make absolutely certain that you have exported/backed up every bit of your content from your old site.
I’ve seen cases where folks allowed their old hosting to lapse before making sure they had everything, and their content was lost when their account expired.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers!
